Manchester United reportedly being sold to Qatari investors

My play today though is Manchester United shares up slightly as more reports coming in speculating the European Premier League soccer club will be sold to a Qatari investor. So Bloomberg reporting that the Cutter Investment Authority is leading this bid alongside local family offices. Now this does mean that that wouldn't be the same group that already owns soccer club Paris, St. Germain, they can't do that, that would be a conflict. And so Forbes has previously valued the Glazer family owned Manchester United as one of the most expensive brands in the world, slapping an estimated price tag of $4.6 billion on Manu. Now all of this is ahead of the supposed February 17th deadline created by the rain group for bids to be submitted Dave.

So we're coming right up on that deadline. It seems like, is it going to be the whole club? Is it going to be part of the club? It doesn't seem like there's a clear picture on that. If it's going to be sold at all, if it gets sold, I know you and I will both be excited because it might be a record and we love waiting to see if those teams are sold for a record. It will be. I think let's just say it will be a record. There's any question when you get a brand like that out in the market, not just a club with the history, but the brand. We're going to top anything we've seen.

Yeah, the early reports that they were going to sell part, but the people that are interested in this team don't typically buy part of something. They want all of it, including that group, the Saudis who may have been interested. Jim Ratcliffe, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the richest man in the UK and the Daily Mail reporting Elon Musk might put in a bid. And I'm sure you love that given what he paid for Twitter. I'm sure Tesla investors probably don't know that. Is he coming back to the Tesla Well to buy something? He needs to be saving his money at this point. We were just talking about all the challenges that he's having with Twitter up until now.

He has a heck of a lot of money. I don't know if I guess you could also make the argument that sports teams, especially when you take into account what the Glazer family reportedly paid for it years ago versus what it is today. Maybe it could be a good investment. They paid less than a bill. I'd rather own man you than Twitter. I think yeah. Elon Musk would probably agree with you.

Tesla investors on the line right now though on that report.
