Snow starts Thursday night

Snow starts Thursday night

It's the last dry day until we get the storm to come in here tomorrow night. So it's on the way here coming out of the Rockies a little bit later on tonight. Temperature outside now coolest Port Huron 36 Lapir is the same number 42 in an armor 43 in Monroe in Detroit were 42 we were 43 degrees last hour. 42 is the average high this time of year. So this is about how it's supposed to feel especially if the sun pops out in March. But you can see the clouds are from Lake Michigan back to the west. Now it's a combination of snow and rain.

That's kind of the start of a different storm system. And the other one will kind of catch up to it and take over. So they're going to have three or four maybe even five days of snow in Minneapolis for us. It is Thursday night and then through most of Friday. Here's Thursday morning tomorrow morning snow across the Nebraska some of the Dakotas. It is rain closer to Kansas City St. Louis.

But when it gets in here it should be all snow. This is about 3 3 30 on Friday morning. It started coming in the west. If you just look at the colors they're all kind of the same around the area. Maybe a little heavier at this point around 9 9 30 in Detroit. The point is there'll be snow on the ground and a little bit on the roads for the Friday morning commute. And then we keep piling as we go in general across the whole region here.

It's going to be widespread three to six inches. I'd like to be a little bit more specific but this one just kind of looks fairly uniform. Can't really pinpoint a heavier spot or a lighter spot without much lack of confidence. Anyway at this point by 8 30 or so in the evening it is done and it pushes out of here and then we get the clouds to break up a little bit into Saturday. So a wide spread again three to six across the area. You could have about as much chances getting six inches in Detroit as in Adrian as in Pontiac. So and same thing for three.

So I'm just trying to give you an idea that it's pretty uniform pretty widespread across the region again starting Thursday night late into Friday morning. You'll drive through it both in the morning and the evening. Probably a little tougher drive in the morning because the pace of the snow will be a little heavier than 24 tonight in Lapeer 27. Mount Clemens 27 in Detroit as well. Mostly cloudy skies and then tomorrow anywhere from part that are mostly cloudy back to the low 40s again 43 in the city. Important numbers here for tomorrow night. So this is Thursday night right into Friday morning 28 Lapeer 29 import here on 30 Detroit 31 of Monroe.

So below freezing the snow is going to start sticking in the overnight here and we don't come up much either on Friday with low 30. So this will be another wet heavy feel to the snow. But generally it is less than what we had last time. So we should have less trouble in terms of the branches. The power outage that kind of thing. The wind is going to gust a little bit on Friday. So that's still a little bit of concern.

All right.
