New NFL Combine Experience

DNFL scouting combine will descend on Indianapolis next week right there at Lucas Oil Stadium. This will be the 36th year in a row the Circle City has hosted the combine. But this year there's something brand new for fans and it is all free. Joining me this morning with more on the new fan experience at Lucas Oil Stadium here is Nate Swick with Visit Indie. Nate good to see you. Appreciate you coming on. This is exciting.

I can't believe we're already talking about it. First of all when is it and I said where? Absolutely. So this is happening next week, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. And we mentioned the NFL combine has been here for 36 consecutive years. I know. That's pretty wild. So they've dabbled with some fan activations over the time.

But this is the first time where fans can actually fully be a part of the outdoor and the indoor experience. There's a fan festival in the South lot outside of Lucas Oil Stadium. So this is a giant list of things. There is a roster of ways to get involved next week. So we can head out and you can actually watch all of the college football players perform indoors trying to land a spot in the NFL, which is the biggest job interview of their lives. So you can pick a day and you know those Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I think Saturday is like the QB's wide receiver.

So that's a big day. But there's other positions throughout the entire week. You can come and check that out or head outdoors, run the 40 yard dash, do some cone drills, get in on the action. It's actually the same experience that they have at the Super Bowl every single year. Okay. Yeah, the fan experience there. Yeah.

So they picked it up and brought it here for the first time. And it's pretty impressive and it's going to be massive outside at Lucas Oil. I think this is pretty incredible because there are a lot of people out there who want to know and see exactly what these guys put themselves through to get on the team. It's not easy. It's not easy. So to be able to be there and witness it firsthand is pretty cool. You do have to register though.

So it's a great experience, free parking. We're really excited for the 36th consecutive year. And I mean, if you're not a big football fan, you don't want to watch it. It's a great family friendly experience. I mean, I want to get out there and run a 40 yard dash. I know I'm going to call your colleague Lindsey Stone out last year. She and I got to do some racing together and throw in some footballs around.

So it's a lot of fun to get excited about and get in on the action. We're taking a look at some video here of the event last year down at the stadium. Tell me this, now a lot of fans will be curious about how close they can get to these prospects here. LucasOil will be sectioned off. So it's not going to be the entire stadium. It's just going to be half of it. Yeah.

So it's the lower bowl inside LucasOil Stadium. And if you want to bring out your phone, you can get out your phone, you can record, you can be a part of the action. So it really is closer than you've ever been able to get before. So if you're a football fan, you might have a favorite player coming in from one of your college teams. You can get up close and personal inside LucasOil Stadium, record them, bring your friends, bring your family. It's a lot of fun. How incredible is that just to be able to have that experience seeing these future stars on the NFL.
