Authorities say Alabama basketball standout brought gun used in deadly Tuscaloosa shooting

Alabama basketball star freshman standout Brandon Miller took a gun to the strip in Tuscaloosa after getting a text message from his now former teammate Darius Miles. That gun was used in the killing of Jamiah Harris back in January. Miles and Michael Davis are each charged with capital murder. This new information came out during this morning's preliminary hearing for the defendants. Good afternoon Alabama head basketball coach Nate Oates said he had been fully aware of Miller's role in what happened. Oates also made it clear that Miller is not in any kind of trouble and that he says they have been cooperating fully with law enforcement this entire time. We knew about that.

I mean, you know, you can't control everything. Anybody does outside of practice. Nobody knew that was going to happen. College kids are out. Brandon hasn't been in any type of trouble. Nor is he in any trouble type of trouble in this case like we're on. Spotted the wrong time.

As to what though this could mean to Miller's chances in the NBA Oates said he is sure that NBA scouts will ask because he said they do their homework. ESPN projects Miller to be taken number four overall in the 2023 draft that starts in June.
