One way the NHL Lottery win is already having an impact on the Blackhawks
It's pretty obvious that Blackhawks fans are very excited over winning the NHL draft lottery and getting the chance to select this player, Conor Bedard, with the first overall pick in June's NHL draft. And how are the team's supporters showing it? By buying up tickets. According to the Blackhawks fans of Tuesday morning, they've sold 5.2 million dollars worth of season ticket packages, including 1200 full season ticket plans since they won the lottery just before 7.30 p.m. on Monday.
That's certainly a big deal for the team who saw their attendance drop to 17,167 fans this past season. Their lowest attendance since the 2007-2008 campaign, the rookie year for Jonathan Taves and Patrick Kane. The Blackhawks led the NHL in attendance from the 2008-2009 campaign through the 2019-2020 season, including a sellout streak of 535 games.
