Buffalo Bills learn London date, opponent for this season

Well, we have known for quite a while now that the Buffalo Bills would be headed back to Europe for a regular season game this fall, but today we learned where, when, and who their opponent is going to be. So for any fans hoping to go to the game, you'll want to start looking now at flights and hotels for early October in London. Our Lindsay Maupert joins us now in the studio with more on today's announcement. Hello, Lindsay. Hi, Scott and Mary Alice. Yes, we've known since January about this business trip over to London. But today we got the details.

The NFL announced that the Bills will be playing the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, October 8th at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Now, aside from the game itself, there will be plenty of activities and events going on that weekend. Thanks to London and UK Bills Backers Groups for organizing things like bus tours, alumni meet and greets, boat parties, and of course some game day bar festivities for Bills fans to meet up and bond over their love for the Bills. So it surely sounds like a packed weekend and chairman of the UK Bills Backers Group, Matt Swain says that it's been a long time coming. I was actually thinking, thank God they're coming back to me on it. I mean, eight years since the last game and every single time with their fingers crossed on the announcement going, yeah, let's hope it's the Bills. Let's hope it's the Bills.

I think there's talks of trying to actually recreate what the Bills mafia do when they come back, when the Bills come back from an away game and the playoffs actually pack out the airport. There's actually talk in our group chat of finding out when they land and just have a load of fans just go there and meet the players. That's how, that's really how excited the fans are over here that the Bills are coming back. Swain even went on to say that all of the festivities and events for the game weekend have been planned for over two years now and really just needed that final stamp of the date and time to make it official.
