Allen outlet mall shooting survivor Irvin Walker in recovery after being shot multiple times
Olivia Leach and Alan tonight. Thank you. Thankful asking for support. The daughter of Alan shooting victim Irvin Walker. Speaking out for the first time, Walker we know we've shot multiple times, but as Aaron Jones will share with you now, he's already on the road to recovery. 24 year old Jasmine Walker was in Atlanta visiting friends when she got the call. Someone passed a phone to me and I was able to hear his voice, but it's nothing like being there.
Her father Irvin Walker, one of the injured victims in the Alan premium outlets mass shooting. Shopping. Just like any other American, he was parking his vehicle and got caught up in the crossfires. All this caught on dash cam video that's circulating online. His injuries are extensive and he's in need of multiple surgeries, but he made it out alive. He knows that God is with him. That's what he's been saying since the beginning.
He's so spirit filled and it's a relief to have someone that has faith in the people that are taking care of him. Unity is extremely important. Unity is bringing us here today. Wednesday, Jasmine and her father's fraternity brothers joining hundreds of others in prayer. So I just wanted to show my support and let them know that I'm here thinking about them praying for them that they get through this. And he wanted to make sure that he sent our prayers to the victim's family. That is so very important to him because there's a part of him that's feeling guilt.
His attorney, Darrell Washington says moving forward, it is so very important to Irvin that we find out why this happened and whether this was preventable. Jasmine focusing on the long road to recovery shall be there every step of the way. It's been a journey and I know it's going to be moving forward, especially now considering he's protected me all my life. And I have to figure out how to protect him.
