How important was that C of what? I mean, I had a clear lane once I got past Cleaver and Draymond's so smart. How teams defend us, they're going to try to crowd the paint and show bodies and. Especially like me, Clay, JP don't want to come off our body, so there's a lot of help and he got to the right position. Kind of made eye contact once I kind of turn the corner because you're trying to see the floor, see what your options are. And he once he's looking at me and I can see his body language is like, you know, come on, I'm going to seal it and just a smart play. And the timing was perfect and I got to the finish. What's the significance of this one? You guys have that in Chase Center for a four game home stand? I mean, we know the standings and tiebreaker stuff and all that.

And that's important, but it's more just a good reminder of what it takes to win against a team that you're competing or chasing or stacked up against in the standings. And I can play off type atmosphere that can go with possession here, possession there. And even if it's not pretty, you know, feel like you could play better, you just find a way to win. And that's what the playoffs is all about. So it reminds us what it takes to do that. And our whole goal of these last, you know, eight games now is to just build on that. And we keep talking about like forming an identity as we head towards the foe season.

All that stuff matters. Steve called that was late on bird, he supported his best at the end of the season. I mean, what did you see with that kind of using the ball to the end of the world where you just get to that? It doesn't dump. I mean, I was down there. I was on the bench, I think, and saw the ref point our direction for the ball. And then there's a point the other way towards their bench to call the timeout. Loon actually got a little confused at first because, you know, he didn't hear the whistle for the timeout.

But after that, it was pretty clear as our ball and nobody from their side went down to get it because it was, you know, whatever it was. And probably the easiest two points Loon's ever had and the easiest assist JP's ever had. But it was weird, but it was clear what was going on from our standpoint. What impact, off the bench, kind of, almost kind of like a miniature, kind of, you know, you can have to play kind of, what do you think, a Christmas ball is? We knew him and Christian were X-Factors, you know, for their team. And if they get going, they're tough to beat because you know what Luke is going to do. He has a ball in his hands, you know, the whole game and he requires a lot of attention. And as a secondary score, Jadon was really efficient.

He made some big shots, a couple of threes in the fourth quarter, but obviously he did it the whole game. So he's talented, he can score. He's kind of fearless out there. He had a great game. How do you think your daughter defended him and Luke in general? I mean, for the most part, we put him on the free-dol on too much in the first half. But Luke is interesting, he's going to get his numbers because he's good, first and foremost, but they have a team kind of formed around him that gives him a lot of space and he's great at picking and choosing the spots, whether he's looking for a shot or putting pressure on you in the paint to kick out to shooters. And, you know, they made 17 threes off of a lot of his gravity.

So you got to live with some of that stuff and you got to live with him having big numbers because, again, he's that great and he has a lot of opportunity. But at the end of that, kind of the first question is just about how can you get to the last possession where you have a chance to win and it's kind of how it goes. Sorry about Jonathan, you guys have performed tonight, obviously. Maybe 20 plus and also Cardiff, Luke up for the majority of the game as well. I mean, he's showing his ability as a two-way guy, being comfortable out there, taking on the challenge defensively and also finding his spots offensively, cutting, using his athleticism, he knocked down two threes in the first half, I think. So just to know he's just getting more comfortable as time goes on with what we're asking him to do defensively and him finding his sweet spots in our system. I hope he's having fun doing it as well because it's obviously shown up in the stat sheet and helping us win, but it's also, you know, that eye test that he looks comfortable out there.

So that means a lot. Too quick with Maddie. Kelly talked about these last night games, just kind of being warm up for the playoffs and what did you think about the way they resorted out on the road and that kind of sense of desperation you showed? It's a warm up as long as you're winning, right? If not, we know it's a stake. So you've got to meet the moment knowing that literally every game matters and even if it's a tough, you know, kind of stretch within a game, you've got to learn the lessons you need to learn as we go down the stretch. So it's the type of basketball you want to play because it means a little bit more and there's a lot more at stake, so you've got to embrace it. Okay, Steph, Dirk's part of the Unstarter Stated Finest class for the Hall of Fame this year, including Dwayne Wade, Pop, Becky Hammond, Pop was on a couple others. Just your thoughts about, you know, just his impact on the game and just that Starter Stated class and you know.

His career speaks for itself as a champ at MVP. What he's meant to the Mavs organization for, what do you play, 20 years? 21. 21 years. Doing it all for one organization. Son of Sigol Amon, he's kind of been him, Cole, Tim Duncan, those guys who play for one team, their whole career and what they mean to the city and all that. I, we're on the bus on the way into the arena and I got like four grainy pictures of the statue outside that I took on the way in just because he's kind of an icon in Maverick's history, obviously, in the city of Dallas, but now getting enshrined into the basketball Hall of Fame is special and he deserves all the recognition.
