big news of breaking news and that lori valo murder trial as the prosecution has rested its case and then again the defense also rested their case that means closing arguments are set to begin this week and a verdict could soon follow we want to continue art here on live now from fox and bring on on the phone here online now from fox justin lund justin on the road there back to all uh. i'd go uh. can you hear us here on live now from fox and obviously you've been reporting on this what we make of the latest developments from today in this case okay good to hear from you yet we are on the road back to the lori valo trial in voice the idaho and today was definitely strange in a way there was so much fun surrounding the courthouse uh. when the prosecution would get wrapped up with witnesses now sixty different witnesses called to the stand during five weeks of testimony really and this is the sixth overall week of the lori valo trial history election began and it seems like it was just yesterday where the court was deciding on duty would be put fifty different witnesses the prosecution rep the state rep but the quick question was with more about the fact that by a lot of people are not surprised at lori valo i did not take the stand with all the evidence against her in opening the top of the clock examination uh. but definitely i was a quick question finally answered today definitely and that would have been a certainly a lot of for people to tune in to to see kind of what she said like you heard uh. deciding her own defense but the defense didn't bring any witnesses you said sixty witnesses but none really on the defense's side are we surprised by that is that kind of what we expected as well now that i will tell you where the surprising comes from the defense not having one witness at all for lori valo now obviously if you did decide to take the stand and testify you could have expected some expert witnesses or what have you come to the best but if you were not going to testify at all uh. the defense really laid out all their cards on the table that we have nobody who testified and really think you'll be or so ago when they allowed that hot but mission for evidence that hot that's between lori valo showing her religious police i was really uh.

much testimony you are going to get her without having uh. any cross examination on the table but yet the big shot that there was no provided and closing arguments are going to be coming up soon and then potentially a verdict we also learned big news that the uh. after not allowing cameras throughout the trial the judge will let the verdict of the streamed online and certainly that is a big case uh. maybe what developments led to this happening and maybe how can people watch that as well i will tell you closing argument coming up but so quickly that is going to be big for the defense and we just mentioned no witnesses or more about what are they going to offer up in closing argument the prosecution will go first and the defense and the prosecution and the jury will deliberate and yeah this is definitely going to be interesting to see the actual verdict on a live stream all on the judges youtube channel there won't be a full camera allowed but maybe there were a couple of media outlets requested to be the full camera for this big decision to be read uh. but the judge ultimately decided you're not going to allow that we're going to have a still that is a big deal because that's the number twenty-third of twenty twenty two as you remember cameras were banned from inside the courtroom after specific shots in footage of loy valo was shown in a hearing and the argument was they could not find a fair and impartial jury so let's and cameras now the public will finally get to see her why did you have heard it right and we'll see closing arguments on the may the eleventh and then the jury deliberations will begin this is a very complicated trial do we expect those deliberations to take some time during this that's a good question who knows if the jury could take less than a day a day or a few days uh. we will be and we will be here absorbed so much evidence again sixty different witnesses so much graphic evidence in your talk about three murder victims in this case you have to remember their names jj ballo seven years old his sister sixteen-year-old kylie rime and tami debel the wife of pat debel when this all went down and the prosecution presented the statement an opening statement money power that they said that but what the case was all about they presented the aspect and elements of the uh. of the statement money power that would be like insurance policy and the affair that was ongoing between chad debel and lori ballo and the power within the religious belief that they really i had a whole inner circle believing at the time in those witnesses have testified so what will the jury do with all that information we will see how long the celebration takes i am relieved to be here for that yeah i i believe it as this trial will wrap up but this is not the only trial for lori ballo after this trial finishes how soon could lori's trial in arizona back here where you usually report that will that begin yeah that is another big question i have been in contact with america for county attorney's office i remember she was indicted back in june of twenty twenty one for conspiring to commit the murder of her fourth husband charles ballo if you remember her late brother alex talked with a man behind pulling the trigger and shooting and killing charles ballo in that handler home back in july of twenty nineteen know that charles ballo wants to talk about the family wants justice for him and they will want her prosecuted so i have been in contact with the county attorney's office to see hey when this trial is over in idaho how soon will the decision be made and how the adjudication goes forward we will be monitoring that quickly definitely justin lumb a lot of questions still left to be answered in this trial in idaho as well in arizona justin lumb great reporting as always and safe travels up there to idaho uh.
