Video: Light snow in evening, with larger storm ahead

After a little bit of light snow in southern New Hampshire earlier this morning, we are looking at two other systems, one another quick mover later on this evening and a much larger system with a lot more moisture prompting winter storm watches for central and northern areas of the state starting tomorrow evening and continuing through a good portion of the day on Thursday. Tonight's system. There's about a four hour window from west to east to see one or two hours of light snow, a light coating to maybe an inch or two in some spots out of that some slippery roads after about seven o'clock this evening through about midnight. And then I think after that the morning commute tomorrow should be much improved in southern New Hampshire tomorrow, just a general increase in clouds. The snow starting to develop tomorrow night could transition over to sleep in some southern areas, which would have a tendency to limit amounts that I think is the one big question mark left over where we see all snow out of this system. Pretty good potential of six to 12 inches of snow with the slower travel expected later on Wednesday night and into Thursday. So you could see one system pulling away from this morning.

Another one approaching through New York late this afternoon and tonight while the one back out through the northern Rockies eventually gets here tomorrow evening and into early on Thursday. So here's a look at future cast. You can see snow on the doorstep late in the day. This more of a line of snow showers or a burst of light snow that comes through somewhere between six and eight o'clock this evening and nine to 10 o'clock in eastern areas before pulling away. Skies will clear quickly behind it overnight tonight and will set up a very quiet morning commute for us tomorrow with a little breeze out of the northwest temperatures tomorrow in the thirties to lower forties, clouds increasing and thickening later in the day. First flakes likely after eight o'clock in some southwestern areas, but then gradually building northeastward after midnight and what is all snow eventually could transition over to several hours of sleep in some southern New Hampshire locations. How far north that navigates during the overnight hours and during the morning on Thursday is the million dollar question as far as final accumulation from this after a little bit of a break later on Thursday afternoon, a little bit of light snow Thursday night at early Friday and then the winds pick up and some much colder temperatures build in thereafter.

A general light coating to maybe an inch, possibly two in a few locations and we could see maybe a spot two, two and a half inch amount up an elevation in some western areas. This is going to be a pretty good burst of snow that comes through somewhere between six and 10 o'clock, but it will not be snowing all four of those hours, but could make things slippery. As I mentioned in areas that we are expecting this to stay mostly or all snow six to 12 inches of accumulation out of this. While lesser amounts are possible in southern areas, it is not a given yet. We're watching several different computer maps come in this morning with varying amounts of sleet versus snow out of this for southern parts of the state. So again, we're gonna watch those maps rather closely with arrival not till later tomorrow evening. Seven day forecast has the chillier wind around for Friday and Saturday, moderation early next week.
