'NBA Crossover' event at SLC All-Star Weekend: Day 2
the all right we've got a jam packed show for you look at it we're all standing by we've got the all-star weekend covered and you see John and Danny out there in the field hi guys hello Amy and yes you know the event here today this whole weekend really about making memories about making memories are going to last for a lifetime it has been such a special afternoon we're at the convention center the salt palace and I mean the house is packed here we have some people just kind of streaming in but what's really neat is there are people of all ages here John right all ages all generations and they're all enjoying it taking it all in and everybody has their gear on so you can see like jazz gear warriors gear wakers gear vintage gear it's so fun to look at all that it is I mean I know we have people from all over the country here but there are a ton of you tons and a lot of young men that are here today they're having so much fun it's been special for them making memories and we're having the time of their lives we've talked to a few of them let's take a listen to what they had to say about their adventures this afternoon what is the like the feeling inside the convention center right now it's so crazy it's so awesome it's hype it's hype stuff to do everywhere players over there it's just a vibe it's so like it has a vibe right now what has been your favorite part of the day so far I like just doing the competitions and taking pictures with my boys have you have you been kicking some booty in the competition he's not yeah yeah they weren't giving him any grace right there but they were so much fun they were so cute I mean they were so alive talking about this event I can just tell how special this is for so many people here in Utah yeah again they're never gonna get that moment of being here in this amazing environment you just you come in this room just feel so happy today and again this goes on again tomorrow here at the South Palace Convention Center tonight though there's a pretty big event going on just across the street over at the Vivids Mark home arena that of course is NBA All-Star Saturday night slam dunk skills competition shooting competition as well everyone's been really excited about this Voxler team for Porter-Lucy-Helson, T5 outside Vivid arena and boy things are getting wild over there what's the feeling like Lucy teams from around the country maybe you can see some of them walking by me here which I think just shows the scale of how many people from around the world are here in downtown Salt Lake City right now we spoke with people who don't even have tickets but are still near a Vivint arena celebrating super fans getting All-Star and Jazz logo sprayed on their hair participating in shout-out competitions and talking anything and everything basketball it's something experience like if I never been to like any place big like a Super Bowl or to a World Series but this thing is crazy people from all over here and this is cool Barf walkie tells me he's excited to see the three-point competition tonight and hopes to see Jazz player Laurie Mark and others here eager to see the famous slam dunk competition and we will be here all night bringing you the energy from fans and the sense of what it's like here outside Vivint arena for now live in Salt Lake City Lucy Nelson Fox 13 news Utah.
