WNBA star Brittney Griner reportedly re-signs with Phoenix Mercury

Tonight we have learned WNBA star Brittany Griner is heading back to the basketball court. ESPN reports Griner signed a one year, one hundred sixty five thousand dollar contract with the Phoenix Mercury for the twenty twenty three season. The last time she suited up for the Mercury was in twenty twenty one when she led them to the WNBA finals. Griner missed the twenty twenty two season because she was in prison in Russia accused of carrying vape canisters that had cannabis oil inside. She was released in December as part of a prisoner swap. The Mercury season begins May 19th.
