Actor Richard Belzer of 'Law & Order' dead at 78

But love stand-up comedian and iconic law and order actor Richard Belzer has died. Belzer passed away peacefully Sunday at his home in France. A close friend tells The Hollywood Reporter Belzer had suffered from quote, a lot of health issues. Belzer is best known for more than two decades playing Detective John Munch on law and order SVU and homicide life on the street. The character actor also appeared on The Wire, 30 Rock, The X-Files and eight other shows. Richard Belzer was 78.
