Now to Ukraine where the country is getting a major boost after Denmark and the Netherlands promised to supply the Ukrainian air force with as many as 61 American made F-16 fighter jets. Our foreign correspondent, Tom Suvi-Burge is at the scene of that missile strike.
Tom. Yeah, Lindsay. Zelensky touring Europe.
And what a moment the Ukrainian president climbing inside an F-16. The Danish prime minister sitting behind him. Denmark promising 19 of those American made planes, crucially the first batch due here in Ukraine by the end of this year. Zelensky also inside the cockpit in the Netherlands, hoping that country will supply as many as 42 F-16s. But the jets won't have any impact on this phase of the war. Russia's air superiority is hampering Ukraine's so far slow moving and costly counteroffensive. Today, emotional scenes here in Chernihiv as people mourn the victims of that Russian missile strike, seven people killed, including a six year old girl.
The number of injured rising to more than 150 according to Ukrainian officials. People leaving flowers and cuddly toys here at the site of the blast throughout the day. Lindsay. The memorials there now all too familiar. Tom, thank you. Hi everyone. George Stephanopoulos here.
