Friday August 4 Evening Weather: Severe Storm Potential This Weekend

Feature Image

Summary:

  • Dry and warm on Saturday, showers likely on Sunday with potential for strong thunderstorms.
  • Low-pressure system approaching from the West, bringing rain and storms for Sunday and Monday morning.
  • Next week expected to be quiet with comfortable temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
  • Tonight's temperatures in the 60s under partly to mostly cloudy skies.

Haven't had to track storms for a while, a little bit of activity last night, but I think we'll be tracking on Sunday. Let's take a look at what's ahead as we go towards the weekend. Dry and warm Saturday. So enjoy this day. I think it should be very similar to the weather we had today, but there are going to be showers likely on Sunday. The potential of thunderstorms to any thunderstorms we see could be strong, maybe even severe. That's gonna be followed by seasonal temperatures next week.

Weather Forecast for Tomorrow

If you have outdoor plans for tomorrow, here's what you can expect. Starting at 8 a.m., the temperature will be around 67 degrees, rising to 78 degrees at noon and reaching 81 degrees by 4 o'clock in the afternoon. The temperatures are quite comfortable, although some areas like Janesville, Montello, Camp Douglas, and La Crosse are experiencing warmer conditions in the mid-80s. The western regions, like Bismarck and Rapid City, have cooler temperatures around 69 to 70 degrees. However, most of the region has heat indices in the 80s, while southern parts experience a sweltering 100 degrees due to some scattered showers and storms in the area.

Approaching Low Pressure System

A low-pressure system is moving in from the West, bringing clouds and the possibility of showers and storms with it. The high-pressure system that kept us dry today will shift eastward tomorrow, still maintaining dry weather. But on Sunday, the low-pressure system will move closer, bringing increased chances of rain and thunderstorms. The best chance for rain will likely be Sunday night into Monday morning, with conditions gradually improving by midday Sunday. The upcoming week is expected to be fairly quiet with comfortable temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

Weather Outlook and Conclusion

Tonight, temperatures will drop into the 60s under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Tomorrow's weather will be similar to today's, with mostly sunny to partly sunny conditions and highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s. On Sunday, showers are likely, and thunderstorms are possible. The wet weather may continue into Monday morning. However, the following week is predicted to have low rain chances and pleasant temperatures. For weather enthusiasts, there is a lot to look forward to in the upcoming days, with varying conditions and occasional showers, but overall, it seems like a relatively calm period ahead.

Famous last words, Bob. You know, I gotta give you a little bit of a hard time. Yeah, well, yeah, you gotta keep me humble. I certainly try. All right. Thank you, Bob.
