The producers that financially backed the blindside are speaking out and defending the Oscar-winning film against many mischaracterizations and uninformed opinions that have been made in the past 10 days. This comes as the film subject Michael Orr alleged the Tuohy family lied to him about being adopted.

In a lengthy statement sent to people on Thursday afternoon, Alcon Entertainment co-founders and COCEOS defended the film's authenticity. They clarified that Orr and the four members of the Tuohy family were collectively paid approximately $767,000 in payments through their talent agency for the blindside. The deal for their life rights was consistent with the marketplace at the time for relatively unknown individuals, resulting in no significant payouts depending on the film's success. Therefore, the notion that the Tuohys were paid millions of dollars by Alcon to the detriment of Michael Orr is false.

Orr alleged in a legal filing on August 14th that the Tuohys had misrepresented what a conservatorship was when they had him agree when he was 18 years old. He also claimed that the Tuohy family collectively received millions of dollars while he received nothing for his rights to the film. The 2009 movie made $330 million at the box office and has continued to generate revenue over the years.
