Icahn Fights Back Against Short Seller Hindenburg

I can't get enough of this. I mean, you know, Carl Icahn has never been one to shy away from a fight, but apparently neither is Hindenburg Right and Carl Icahn likes a fight, but usually he's not at the receiving end of so much vitriol So it really is gonna be a test for him to see How he fights back against Hindenburg Hindenburg today reiterating that you know, they're short and even though icon yesterday you mentioned men said that You know Hindenburg is blitzkrieg research and had all sorts of responses It wasn't enough for Hindenburg and the stock is still down since Hindenburg got into icon enterprises The stock's down about 36% and that'll be the real test of this fight how the stock fairs Yeah, I dropped 25% last week and I think right now the tally for the week so far Leanna's almost 20% Already here over the last four days. I thought it was interesting too a few days ago. I think it was last week Somebody actually reached out to bill Ackman for comment Of course who had a famed battle with Carl Icahn over herbal life and he seemed to take a little bit of uh I guess pleasure if I will in seeing some of the struggles he's having right now with Hindenburg Right icon said there's some karma here Although we'll see because icon if you remember with herbal life, you know, had a big short squeeze And icon here, I'm sure we'll do whatever he can to get the stock price up So this isn't over shares today weren't down that much after Hindenburg's response There's a lot of retail shareholders in the stock. It's sort of a liquid an icon controls 84% of it So this is his own wealth tied up here. Yeah, he also Could fight this for a really long time. So we're just really getting started here and it's a lot of fun to cover And just to be absolutely and just to be clear I mean this isn't just Hindenburg lobbying allegations are Ackman sort of taking a little bit of glee in this I mean federal prosecutors are we do know based on our reporting actually looking into this Do we have a sense here specifically what they're looking for and as Carl icon responded to that inquiry? icon disclosed it yesterday that the company received sort of an inquiry for documents and materials and they're cooperating with the southern district There's no sense of how serious this investigation is or if it is an investigation But it's not the first time that the southern district has taken Hindenburg research Seriously, they also went after the nicola founder Who Hindenburg research also had targeted? So it's not the first time we've seen sort of the feds working with short sellers Which is a whole other story So we'll have to see what happens here But icon has said there won't be a material impact on the business from this inquiry.
