PC knocked out of Big East Tournament by rival UConn 73-66

Well Taylor it was a sellout as you could imagine two charter members of this conference playing in a quarter final game. It was the most anticipated quarter final game of this tournament and it delivered even though it took quite some time as you mentioned the Friars trailed by as many as 26 points. They roared back to make it a five point game with a few minutes left. They applied pressure for Yukon. Yukon turned the ball over almost 20 times. Ultimately though not enough to get over the hump. We just got outside the PC locker room.

We called up with guys like Devin Carter, Corey Floyd, Ed Crawswell who all said that the ownership and the blame should be squarely on the players for the first 28 minutes. That poor performance that dug them a 26 point hole ultimately too much to overcome. We dug ourselves in the hole. First half obviously got down about 24 something like that and you know just being able to come back. We wanted to win but you know the effort was there and that's really all you can ask for. Yeah I believe we're still a tournament team. I think we built a good enough resume and now we just got prepared for a tournament time you know that's one of the best times of the season.

Obviously we didn't get out to the start. We wanted to practice but I mean at the end of the day give credit to them. It was a good team and all we can do is just hope to play in the tournament. And that's a lot of accountability there from some key guys for the Friars. They will hope to squash this funk that they are in. They feel like the last 12 minutes of the game will be the way that they will play come tournament time but they will have to wait a few days to hear their name called on selection Sunday before the big dance starts one week from today. Inside Madison Square Garden we're live.
