Miami students 'going crazy' as basketball team makes historic Final Four appearance

I'm Ashoka Sada. If I had to describe the excitement level on the University of Miami campus, I'd say it's a category five. New Final Four Merch comes in Tuesday and students are scrambling to get all their gear before they fly out to Houston to watch the game. The University of Miami campus is alive and the campus store is packed. We have a one way to get there so hopefully we win. Allie Rosen is buying some new orange and green gear to represent at the Yukon Final Four game Saturday. Nobody was like projecting us to win so I think we're the underdogs, the whole team loves each other and the coach is so nice and yeah it was amazing.

If you ask students what it was like the moment the Hurricanes won against Texas Sunday at a nearby sports bar off campus, Max Greenblatt said it was full blown hurricane energy. I felt like the walls and the floors were shaking from just how people were like pounding and going nuts. Greenblatt is a junior and a sports administration major. He says this is the kind of stuff that makes your college experience. Those are going to be memories for people that for students here that last a lifetime where it's going to be like where were you when Miami got to the Final Four. That pride is beaming across campus especially at the infamous you. We just wanted to you know take a picture and document that we were here together.

Jonah Sunshine was a freshman last year when the men's basketball team made it to the March Madness Elite Eight. Now as a sophomore the team is close to an NCAA championship. I must be good luck or something. The basketball team leaves to Houston this Wednesday and even though they're going up against a four time NCAA championship winning school UConn, Hurricane fans are confident they'll make it all the way to the championship. The fact that we have that heart and that tenacity to just keep pushing forward and not quitting till the very end I think is something that you cannot teach a team and it's something that we have and I don't know if UConn has it but we're gonna we're gonna fight to the very end.
