The National Lawyers Guild is responding saying in part these arrests are part of an ongoing state repression and violence against racial and environmental justice protesters who are fighting to defend their communities from the harms of militarized policing and environmental degradation.

The guild also explains legal observers are there as trained witnesses of police. One of the people arrested was a legal observer with the National Lawyers Guild and Southern Poverty Law Center. The National Lawyers Guild is responding saying in part these arrests are part of an ongoing state repression and violence against racial and environmental justice protesters who are fighting to defend their communities from the harms of militarized policing and environmental degradation.
