time for contract construction. Shoya Otani is said to be a free agent at the end of the season. The guys one of the great players we've ever seen. Jim, what's a contract going to look like for him? Well, this was one of the more fun contract proposals I've put together because he's the best DH right now in the sport and though the DH is you know, your down Elvarez got about 160 million dollars, so it's going to be north of that if you were just paying him as a hitter. Then as a pitcher, he's in the top 10 is a pitcher, likely over 200 million dollars. So you put those two huge dollar amounts together and it comes out pretty easily. You know, Aaron Judge set a record as a free agent this winter in the average annual value of 40 million.

Well, it has to be over that because he does two things really well, so it's likely 45 million. He's a year younger than judge. Well, when he goes out in the free agent market, so it's going to be at least 10 years, so 450 becomes the floor. I think it's going to be maybe not way more, but it's going to be more than that. The debate has been really get 500 and I keep saying no, he's not getting 500. No, he's not going to get 500. There's going to be at least four teams that are going to be in on his services.

I don't know how it doesn't start with a five now as you start to look at it and you start to see the bidding. So you have the teams, the names, Dodgers, Giants, Padres, Mets, outside chance of the Yankees and then 25 other teams should be, but I will be those five for sure. Yeah, the bidding alone, I think, will definitely drive that up to 500 million. I think he deserves that to be honest. Like we would ever give a contract like that to a guy. It's going to be him because of what he does. I mean, just let alone what he did in the championship game last night.

Let me just remind everybody really quick. Not only was he the DH, he went out to warm up in the bullpen in the sixth, seventh, then he came back to hit, had a 4.16 sprint speed from home to first. And then he closed out the game. He did it all in one game. Just one inning. Yeah, oh yeah, just one inning.

Just got Mike Trout to strike out and to give the team their third championship ever. So yeah, I'd go 500 at least.
