Fans react to KD ruled out just before tip-off
time, Sun's fans riding a wave of excitement before the sun's tip off tonight. ABC 15's Ashley Holden watching that excitement though quickly turned into disbelief out there, Ashley. And I had to break the news to a lot of people. A lot of fans still walking through these doors had no clue that Katie was not playing. Many disappointed and almost unable to believe the news until he showed them. It's Katie's debut, so I think they're gonna blow the roof off this place tonight. Fans and businesses in downtown Phoenix were ready.
This debut was out of state, so I know the city is ready to hit it tonight. I think they're gonna be a little excited, maybe just a little. We're expecting to be packed to the brims here. Even running specials for Kevin Durant's debut with the sun's here at home. Go Suns, yeah! Now to be playing here and tonight, specifically for the first night ever in the Sun's jersey at home, it's going to be electric inside. Fans lined up excited to catch a glimpse of number 35, but just minutes before tip off, Katie rolling the ankle went down.
