Chris Rock jokes about Oscars slap in Netflix show

Welcome back to Get Up to See. On this Monday morning, trending right now, comedian Chris Rock finally talks about last year's viral Oscars moment. Now most of us don't remember who won at last year's ceremony. I don't, but do we do though? Remember that slap when Will Smith came on stage after Rock's joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith. Saturday night Rock performed his first stand up special since hosting last year's Academy Awards. It was live streamed on Netflix from Baltimore's Hippodrome. It was a first for the company now after bragging early on that he quote took that hit like Pacquiao.

The 58 year old comedian saved moments of his Oscar comments for the end. Rock said that he wasn't a victim. It wasn't going to cry about what happened to an interviewer. He also made some rather biting comments about Smith as well during that Netflix special. I watched it a couple of times actually. A lot was said and maybe a lot needed to be said from him to Will and Jada about how he was going to get out about getting slapped on an international stage. It was unfortunate that a situation like that happened.

I think it was important to hear from Chris Rock on Saturday and though he said some things that were a bit colorful, I think is probably a good way to put it. Put it he needed to have that sort of release for himself to help get him over what has been and traumatic situation. Absolutely, a career defining in a way that he didn't set out for the first time without for it to be. And I think because of that, it was really nice that he could use his platform, his art, his medium to address it, even though a journalist would have liked an interviewer to have heard a little bit more from that. It was really good to hear it. How he wanted to put it. It got paid millions of dollars to tell his story the way that he wanted to tell it on a place where he wanted to do it.

So I think he's the one that kind of wins in the end of this one for sure.
