Windy weather hits Peoria, AZ ahead of Padres Spring Training

All right, we are just what two days now away from San Diego Padres first spring training game And we think the weather is pretty wild here in San Diego It's not just us it's impacting a lot of the western United States including Arizona CBS 8 state of Mcnickle joining us live in Peoria, Arizona when we saw you last day in Rio was a struggle. Yeah, even keeping that equipment in place. How's it now right now? Oh I mean seconds before I went live with you my tripod literally lifted in the air and fell over That's how windy and wet it was here in Arizona in Peoria. You can see we're an hour ahead So the Sun is rising behind me. You can tell with my hair the wind in the trees It's still extremely gusty and I know that even yesterday Some of the wind was impacting those players that I spoke to and those pitchers They don't like playing in this type of weather But not only that as for the fields could be flooded this morning because of how much rain came through here overnight And then this morning and it's coming in waves, but again the wind is sustaining. It's very very gusty out here We are trying to get word right now with the Padres are doing if they're going to continue practice We have Jake Iriani inside the clubhouse right now Speaking to those players trying to figure that out, but again as as the camera moves on its own with the wind here You can really see how gusty it truly is in Peoria So again, if you're visiting here from San Diego, this is probably not really good fan watching weather either Grab your rain jacket grab a windbreaker as well because you're definitely going to need it out here If you know those players are going to continue to practice, so we'll bring you the latest coming up Just take a look at this. Oh what really blown around out there.

Yeah, you can see it in your hair and those trees Yeah, stay safe Dana Marie. The tripod is standing. It's handling it for now. Thank you, Dana. Ray boy I'll tell you what if I was a pitcher and I threw a curveball, I don't know where it would end up at that point. That's where you-.
