Today was day two of the trial for a Brookhaven father-son duo charged with attempted murder. Tia McKenzie is live from Brookhaven with what happened.

Biring on here at Lincoln County Courthouse where father-son duo Gregory Case and Brandon Case appeared in court today. Witnesses testified about what happened on January 24th, 2022. Gregory and Brandon Case allegedly fired shots at D. Monterio Gibson, a Black FedEx driver back in January 2022 when Gibson was delivering a package on Junior Trail in Brookhaven.

The defendants argue Gregory Case called the Brookhaven Police Department first, reporting a trespasser on his property and that he and his son followed Gibson to obtain a tag number. Some believe this could be seen as conspiracy. However, the most bizarre testimony has come from the lead detective for the Brookhaven Police Department. He described his actions, and while initially seeming acceptable, some aspects of his actions do not align logically. Many believe that the standard procedure should have involved a visit to the scene on the night of the incident. The court proceedings will resume in Brookhaven tomorrow, starting at 9 a.m.
