8-year-old survives 2 days in snowy park

This morning, an eight year old missing for two days in a Michigan State Park has quite the story to tell. He said he wasn't really scared. He said something about there was a spider crawling over him. Nante Nimi was on a camping trip with his family when he got lost collecting Firewood Saturday, setting off a frantic search in the woods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. He was found Monday afternoon sheltering under a log about two miles from the campsite. Family friend Eli Tosmo was among several looking for him. I heard calling y'all.

We found him and I went sprinting as fast as I could over there. And then as soon as he saw me he was like Eli and he had stuck on his arms in a week. I gave him a big hug. Remarkably, Nante is okay despite having no food or water. He said he didn't want to drink any of the water because he would have got sick and he didn't eat anything because he didn't really know what he wanted to get. He only had a couple handfuls of snow. Back home, his school was ecstatic.

He was found alive. We announced it to the entire school. It was like being at a big football game with our rain touched on being scored. The entire school lit up in cheers and everybody was just relieved and thankful. And so more than 150 people joined that search for Nante. Hi everyone, George Stephanopoulos here.
