Team Israel opens World Baseball Classic exhibitions against Marlins

Now your I think financial sports desk from WPTV and ESPN 1063. Good evening. Good people. I'm Theo Dorsey from ESPN 1063 and this is the I think financial sports desk. It's been a long six years, but don't fret. The world baseball classic is back underway and before group play kicks off in Miami exhibitions taking over the ballpark in Jupiter. Israeli fans packed Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium tonight as the Miami Marlins played host to Team Israel.

Spring training meets the WBC. Both teams put on a show with plenty of runs for the crowd. The Marlins actually would end up on top winning this one 11 to 5, but this is Team Israel's first exhibition. The team sports 12 major league players, plenty of minor league prospects and even five players from the state of Florida. They're rolled to a first ever WBC title. Won't be easy, but they feel like they got the squad to pull it off. We're in the most difficult division together with Dominican Republic, with Puerto Rico, with Venezuela and Nicaragua and it's gonna be tough.

It's gonna be tough games. The guys are gonna get in shape today and tomorrow. Learn to play together a little bit and from there we'll go forward and we're looking to surprise a lot of people.
