the city. We're going to go through the details of the story. Thanks. Well, did you see it? An incredible Celestial show last night, courtesy of the sky. Those northern lights dancing, even making a rare appearance in the city lights of the metro. If you did miss them last night, you do have another chance tonight. Fox signs Maury Glover is live with more.

Hi, Maury. That's right. A lot of Aurora hunters say that last night show was pretty fun. It's just a fun chase and you get beautiful reward at the end. Becky Strollmire has been chasing the Aurora Borealis for the last three years. It was all around everywhere. But Thursday night, she says she witnessed the most spectacular light show in the night sky so far.

It was amazing. I've been freaking out all day about it, looking at pictures, just seeing the response from people around. Stargazers all over the state are still buzzing about the brilliant images they captured of the northern lights from the North Shore to Albert Lee. They are usually hard to see in the Twin Cities because of light pollution. The Fox nine meteorologist Jennifer McDermott says the solar flares that cause them were so intense they created the perfect storm to make the swirling lights visible, even in the metro. The reason why it was so intense was because this was the strongest geomagnetic storm we've seen in about six years and we had very clear skies. It's just an amazing natural feed phenomenon, whatever you want to call it.

Doug Cottrell from Hudson took more than 500 photos of the celestial showstoppers at Boulder Lake about 30 minutes north of Duluth. It was out of this world experience. If you ever want to feel like you're in space or anything like that, you can go to the northern lights and see the northern lights. All of the pictures illuminate the beauty and boldness of the cosmos. And like many Minnesota and Stromeyer will be keeping her eyes on the skies from now on phenomenal. It's like, you know, that's what people pay the big bucks to go to Iceland and Alaska for and we had it right here. Now, Noah has a space weather prediction center where you can see the northern lights.

And of course, if you'd like to try and follow them or chase them, we'll have a link to our story in Fox nine dot com. You need prayer, more gloves. Fox nine will talk to Jennifer about it.
