Musicians throw benefit show for LGBTQ groups after Gov. Lee signed bills into law

It was a concert put together in just a matter of days in response to two controversial loss passed on Capitol Hill. News Channel 5's Jason Lam takes us inside the love rising show at Bridgestone tonight and spoke to some of the LGBT groups benefiting from tonight's concert. It was star after star on stage at Bridgestone Arena. All for a purpose. Everything that's happening in Tennessee with the legislation is scary. Those attending the love rising show say consider this a rebuttal to state lawmakers passing two bills banning most public drag shows and banning gender affirming care for minors. Tennessee is really tough.

Yes. It's tough. I love it so much here. We're die hard predators fans. I mean I grew up most of my life in Tennessee but. Same here. It can just be tough people.

Yes. Because baby at the end of the day. Tonight's show benefits several organizations across the state supporting the LGBTQ community. Went from four or five artists saying we want to help to it growing into this huge event. Amy Sadler is on the board of one of the organizations benefiting from tonight's event. People in Tennessee care about people. We are the volunteer state.

We want to make sure everyone is safe. And our legislature doesn't agree that's fine but we as people want everyone to feel safe, to feel included, to be able to be themselves. Performers included Marin Morris, Jason Isbull, Cheryl Crowe and more. Leaving many attendees with two reasons to be here. So why not come out to the board as a cause that's really close to our hearts. And then also see our favorite artists of course. Jason Lam, News Channel 5.

Big names. It's how Music City does it.
