A street level view of tornado damage in Troup County

you and now to that damage in the West Point. We arrived in this neighborhood a little while ago this morning and everywhere you look homes are just obliterated. Look at this video. Shout out to his parent Peterson continues our lives severe weather team to coverage. He's in troop county with all that damage all around. Alright, so we're along West Point Road, Sophia in West Point. What you're looking at here is what used to be a small motel smashed to bits like huge pine trees.

Now we're told we talked to a friend of the owner. Everyone miraculously okay. Who was at the hotel? Now we're gonna roll down West Point Road here. You see incredible damage. On every side, locals tell me that there were a few dozen homes along here. Almost all of them destroyed now. Up ahead of us, you can see there are squads of Merchant emergency personnel that are doing work here.

They're trying to clear degree debris from this road. They have been going house to house to make sure that no other people are trapped. We are told that many people were hurt along the road in this homes here were trapped in demolished homes. They got them out and they have been rushed to local hospitals. Now people are understandably very shaken and still afraid because the stormy weather has not cleared yet and there's still a lot of residents out here trying to pick up any belongings that they can from their homes. Anything they can salvage, but they keep looking up every time there's a clash of thunder. It's it's it's very nervous situation out here to be sure.

So we're gonna pull into this. Look at this. It's just incredible damage. Just terrible and we're going to bring you survivor stories here and there are many, many of those folks that we have talked to out here. We're gonna bring that to you for more of that.
