SCOTUS to hear cases regarding student loan forgiveness

This week millions of Americans will be watching the latest twist in President Biden's plan to forgive student loan debt. The Supreme Court will hear arguments tomorrow. About 40 million Americans are eligible for the forgiveness under the President's plan. Now the court will hear two challengers. The first from a group of Republican-led states. The second challenge involves two borrowers who say they were unfairly denied relief under this program. A lower court blocked the plan back in November so it is already on hold.

The program would cancel federal student loans up to $20,000 each. In the meantime, the Biden administration did freeze loan payments until the end of June.
