Oscar Isaac, Rachel Brosnahan star in BAM production
tonight we go beyond Broadway to the Brooklyn Academy of Music and tonight is opening night for Oscar Isaac and Rachel Brosnahan. They're starring in the sign in Sydney Brewsteen's window a play written by the late Lorraine Hansberry and first on Broadway in 1964. The story is about a couple in Greenwich Village struggling with their marriage and the turmoil in a world that's changing rapidly around them. Iris is in a moment of transition in a moment of enormous change as she says she got married very young and she's a dreamer he's a dreamer they're two dreamers. It's really exciting to give voice to a play that very few people have heard and to be able to bring that to people's attention you know it's like like a lost Mozart piece. The sign in Sydney Brewsteen's window is at Bams Harvey Theater. There's an exhibit highlighting Hansberry's writings.
