JFK Airport fixes power outage that canceled flights

Some people are relieved anybody who has a flight that's being taken off on the regularly scheduled flight time. Well, they're happy because their flight is going out now here at JFK's terminal one. Today of the 64 flights they had scheduled in and out of terminal one. Only 10 of them had to be canceled. The real problem however, Kitey, is that according to passengers we talked to, anyone who unfortunately had their flight canceled over the past couple of days due to the power outage, they're having a really hard time finding new flights now. Oh, they give me some of my money back. Even here eight hours, not knowing what's going to happen.

I was no standing waiting, hoping that somebody says something. The power outage at John F. Kennedy International's terminal one is solved, but the confusion and outrage are getting worse. We don't want to leave on Wednesday. Wednesday's half of the vacation's done. The trouble at JFK began Thursday when the port authority says an important electrical panel at terminal one failed, sparking a small fire. That fire was quickly extinguished, but the damage to the terminal's power grid was serious.

After two days of outages, airport officials say they finally were able to make the necessary electrical repairs to restore full power to the terminal. All of the essential safety and security systems are once again fully functional. It's great for passengers with regularly scheduled flights, but for everyone else, from the dozens of flights that were canceled these past few days, the rebuking process has been well. Atrocious. Totally atrocious. For this large group trying to fly to Egypt for the trip of a lifetime, they still don't know when or if they'll make it. They said our flight is canceled and we need to rebuk.

We can't rebuk. Rebuk is costing us $2,000 one way to get to Egypt. We knew this was going on on Thursday, but if this happened Thursday, there should be people where the people to help, you know, alleviate the problem. Exactly. You really got to feel for some of these people because every day that passes by, every hour even that passes by, that's less time that they're spending on this vacation that they've been spending a lot of money on, as you can see right there. So things were back to partial regularity here at terminal one at JFK. Tomorrow the Port Authority says things should be completely backed together.

I asked everyone trying to rebook their flights, keep at it. And that's what we're hearing. It's a different situation with every different airline.
