James Webb space telescope shows stunning images of megacluster
The James Webb telescope is giving us more incredible images now. It's just extraordinary to look at this. That is three giant clusters of galaxies that are merging. It's known as Pandora's cluster. That merging action creates something that they call gravitational lensing or in layman's terms. It forms sort of a giant magnifying glass for the objects that are behind it. That provides what astronomers call a deep field view.
Those faint arched lines in the lower right portion of your screen there are actually distant galaxies that have never been seen before.
