Dean's A-List Interview: Patrick Stewart & Gates McFadden on 'Star Trek: Picard'

My Dean's Listateless interview for today of the Star and also the namesake of Star Trek Picard. In 1987, Sir Patrick Stewart took over as the commander of the Starship Enterprise. In next generation, he has appeared in many of the incarnations ever since, including the latest, his Paramount Plus series. Now for the third and final season, they are bringing back many of the characters from many generations of Star Trek to fight off a new threat in a Zoom chat with me, Sir Patrick, and also Dr. Beverly Crusher, actress Geitz McFadden talked to me about this bitter, sweet conclusion of Picard. A little sweet, but absolutely no bitterness whatsoever. I have enormous respect for everything that we did on this show.

Sometimes it may be wobbled a little, but the commitment behind it from day one right until the end of shooting season three has been enormous. I worked with the National Theatre in England with the Royal Shakespeare Company, with leading directors, and, but nothing that I could say that had overwhelmed the intensity, seriousness, and passion about Star Trek as I've experienced in the last 35 years. You know, if you were doing a stage play, a three-year run, so that's a pretty good run for any production, right? Yep, I've never done it, not three years. No. More with Sir Patrick Stewart later on. The third and final season of Star Trek, Picard will premiere tomorrow on Paramount Plus.
