Antony Blinken, Kamala Harris speak at international Munich Security Conference

In Germany, a renewed call to stand with Ukraine. The solidarity with and support for Ukraine remains strong enough. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, meeting with Ukraine's Foreign Minister Saturday, one of the many talks at the Munich Security Conference attended by about 40 world governments. There was a great determination among virtually all of the countries represented here to continue that support for as long as it takes for Ukraine to succeed and continue to stand against this Russian aggression. Nearly a year since the Russian invasion on Ukraine, it is the war that is front and center in world diplomatic talks.

On Friday, President Volodymyr Zelensky urged Western powers to step up their military assistance in providing tanks and fighter jets to show up their defenses. Now we're preparing to go into the battle with everything that we need to liberate our territory and prevail. Ukraine's Foreign Minister appealed to China at this conference, trying to get Beijing to back away from its assistance to Vladimir Putin's plan, saying peace will only come with Russia's complete withdrawal. No concessions, no compromises are possible with regard to territorial integrity of Ukraine or any other nation in the world. And no peace plan can be based even on the slightest assumption that a square meter of Ukrainian territory can be considered. Russia is weakened. The Transatlantic Alliance is stronger than ever.

Vice President Kamala Harris addressing the conference as well, warning China to step away from its support of Russia, calling on world powers to stay the course in its support of Ukraine and to hold Russia accountable for crimes against humanity. And we have remained strong. And we must stay strong. Because if Putin were to succeed with his attack on these fundamental principles, other nations could feel emboldened to follow his violent example. Sean Lewis, WGN News.
