NH officials issue warning after river deaths

Well, Katie Rivers are more dangerous this summer. Given all the rain we've seen and has now taken the life of a second Massachusetts resident, a Lawrence man trying to rescue his wife and stepson.


37 year old Vincent Parr from Lawrence was with his family in the White Mountains when he died on Sunday. Officials say Parr's wife and stepson got caught up in the Swift River. They were able to make it out, but bystanders were not able to save Parr. His mother now remembering her son's sacrifice. There's a special, special type of individual out there that has that mindset. I didn't know I raised one of them, but I'm glad I did. But I, you know, at a very heavy cost. Just last week, Melissa Bagley from Lynn was killed while she tried to save her 10 year old son in Franconia Falls. Services for Bagley start tomorrow. New Hampshire fishing games say rivers are especially dangerous right now because of all the rain we've seen. That does two things to water drops the temperature and it increases the volume. Both factor into survivability. And New Hampshire officials say these dangerous river conditions will continue through the fall.
