Russia launches biggest wave of drone strikes on Ukraine in months

Russia has now launched its biggest wave of drone strikes on Ukraine in months now, escalating attacks there before national holiday. The mayor of Kiev said Russia had fired 60 Iranian-made kamikaze drones at Ukrainian targets, including 36 at the capital. They were all shot down, but debris hit apartments and other buildings, enduring at least five people on the ground. Ukraine also says Russia is making a final push to capture the ruined eastern city of Bakhmut. In Russia, May 9th is a huge holiday for Putin. It marks the anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany. Usually Ukraine also celebrates it on May 9th, but this year they marked the occasion on the 8th.
