Macon's H&H Restaurant puts on Mother's Day event to honor matriarchs

My mom always used to say, don't sweat the small stuff. And it's all small stuff. And this weekend, you can celebrate the mom or mom figure who gave you memorable advice at an historic Macon restaurant. The Moon Hanger group is doing Mother's Day Up big at the H&H restaurant. And Suzanne Lawler shows you it's all to honor moms and two Central Georgia ladies that are pretty special. Hello, Dany and I carry out. Country fire steak, macaroni, butterbees.

Tange Myers is the general manager of downtown Macon's H&H restaurant. It's not lost on her that she is carrying the weight of history on her shoulders. And we both just love the passion of cooking. The restaurant's co-founders, Mama Louise and Ainez Hill, ran this kitchen for decades. They gained fame as they fed and supported the Almond brothers in their early years. But that wasn't all. She liked to help the homeless.

Mama Louise became a symbol of Macon's mom. She passed away last year. The Moon Hanger group couldn't let this Mother's Day go without a tribute. This is our first time ever doing something like this. But we want to give all tributes to them. Because without them, none of this will be possible. Mama Hill and Mama Louise are like the original mothers, especially for H&H.

And then coordinator Breonna Cruz put together a parking lot market. Tangy took care of the brunch menu. Flowers, candles, jewelry, sweet goods. In her old building, she did have a lot of flowers around. They'll have stations for the kids and games for the adults. Tangy figures Mama Louise and Mama Hill will show up in spirit. They'll be smiling down because it's a tribute to all mothers.

Not just them, but a tribute to all mothers who sacrificed a lot in the years for their family, for their kids. Suzanne Lawler, 13 WMAZ News. Now the market will run from 11 to 3 Sunday at H&H. Vendors will have all the things for mom, like candles, flowers and jewelry. I know I like plants. There will also be live music outside the restaurant and the special menu will have strawberry pancakes and pot roast.
