12Sports discusses Suns tunnel fashion, prep for Game 3

It is time now to turn to the NBA playoffs. We really need to rally the valley tonight. Yes, as the Suns return home for game three against the Denver Nuggets. The Suns really need to win tonight as they are down to nothing in the best of seven series. And what are the Suns top players actually will be playing tonight? So we want to head on out to the Footprint Center and check in with team 12's Lena Washington, who's getting us ready for the big game. Hey, Lena. Hey, ladies.

Yes, you see the purple shirts are out here at Footprint Center, but you're right. Chris Paul will be out tonight with the groin strain. The Suns were fully healthy up until that moment of game two on Monday, and having every player available is a luxury for any team at this time of year. But now head coach, Monty Williams and his guys will have to adjust to life without the point God and with their season hanging in the balance. So it's next man up in the NBA and that next man is Campayne. He will be getting the start tonight in place of CP3. You'll remember he filled in for Paul two years ago in that playoff run to the NBA finals, and we should see plenty of Devon Booker running the point.

We know the Suns have been successful when he's bringing the ball up the floor, and Payne needs to bring that energy. This team has relied on him for the last several years to get a win tonight. Man, I'm just geeked to be out there. I'm just ready to go. I think all the things I do is something that I can help my team win. That's just the part of the NBA. That's just how it is.

That's the business. You just got to try your best to stay ready. When you're in a name card, be ready for that opportunity. Obviously staying at the gym, that's some things that I like to do. So Coach Big on reps removed out. So just going to try to keep getting my reps in and basically translate it to the game. Tipoff is coming up at 7 tonight here at Footprint Center.

The Suns have to win four of their next five games to advance in the playoffs. Game four is coming up here on Sunday with games five and six, if necessary, coming up on Tuesday and Thursday. Also, happy early birthday to Chris Paul. He turns 38 years old tomorrow. The players are arriving now as we speak, and they're getting photos taken of their game day outfits. We've seen the Arena tunnel become somewhat of a red carpet or a runway for pro athletes. And I had a chance to sit down with Suns forward-ish Wainwright stylist to find out what goes into what we call the tunnel fit.

You know, we can't follow them around like reality TV every day, but they are allowed to show us snippets of their life. And I think the tunnel is a snippet of the personality of the person. The tunnel fit has taken on a life of its own and a chance meeting with Suns forward-ish Wainwright gave wardrobe stylist Starnisha Rollins her first shot at working with an NBA player. I met Ishmael in the hair salon. The conversations weren't just like, what do you like to wear? You know, we were at the bare bones of it. What would you like for people to see when they see you? I enjoyed to see what she puts together, especially. I mean, I switch it up every now and I throw in a hat or something like that or, you know, sometimes you pick out pair of shoes and I'm like, hmm, I haven't seen nobody wear these shoes in a long time, but I love her style.

When you see Ishmael, you see fun, you know, he's not afraid of color. He's not afraid of changing his hair. It's hard to pick just one favorite outfit of the season, but one thing Rollins incorporates into every-ish look, comfort. I'm a big cargo, comfy cargo and hoody person. I have like a dope hat on or some dope shoes. So it's, I'm gonna say all of those fits. Any fashion tips, your best styling tip to anybody who's trying to have the tunnel fit swag.

Well, if y'all big in the hats, make sure your hat matches your shoes. Now, guys, Isha is manifesting an invitation to the Met Gala, but that event happens famously the first Monday of May. So if you're there, that means you're not in the NBA post-season. So right now it's about getting a win tonight to keep this season alive for the Suns with the first game of the series hitting home court tonight. We'll send it back to you in the studio. We're live at Footprint Center, Lena Washington 12 sports. Hey, I would say they need to be in the play.

I know. I would say Lena has on some tunnel fit right now too. We like the jacket. Work it.
