US sues to block JetBlue from buying Spirit Airlines

Breaking news out of Washington, DC. The Biden administration is suing to block a merger of JetBlue Airways and Spirit Airlines. Attorney General Merrick Garland said the deal would reduce competition and drive up fares for consumers. The DOJ specifically cited Spirit's unbundling of services to drive down costs as damaging to customers. This is JetBlue's third attempt at purchasing Spirit.
