Rubio reintroduces bill to make daylight saving time permanent

It feels like we turn back the clock every time this happens, but Senator Marco Rubio yet again has filed a bill to make daylight saving time permanent. Today he refiled the Sunshine Protection Act. Sound familiar? If it were to pass, it would mean that we'd stop falling back every November. You remember, so last year an unusual U.S. Senate procedure actually led to the unanimous passage of Rubio's bill finally, but then it never went anywhere once it got to the House. Here in Florida, of course, our lawmakers voted to lock the clocks back in 2018 to stay on permanent daylight saving time, but as we've explained, that requires congressional approval, which has yet to happen.
