Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth are breaking up. The Oscar winner and her talent agent husband announced an enjoying statement on Friday that they are ending their 12-year marriage just ahead of their wedding anniversary on Sunday. The pair said they arrived at the difficult decision with a great deal of care and consideration. The statement continued, we have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and a moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together. They noted that their biggest priority is their son and the rest of their family as they navigate this next chapter. A source tells people that they remain the best of friends and that this was an amicable decision. The insider adds that the exes are committed to co-parenting together and are invested in their whole family and making this as smooth as possible for everyone.

Witherspoon and Toth announced their engagement in December of 2010 and wed the following March in the laid-back ceremony on her ranch in Ojai, California. The former couple shares a 10-year-old son, Tennessee James. Witherspoon is also mom to 23-year-old daughter Ava and 19-year-old son Deegan, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Ryan Philippi.
