Panthers trade for No. 1 overall pick in 2023 NFL Draft, sources say

And with the first pick in the NFL draft, the Carolina Panthers select probably one of these four guys. You don't trade away major assets, including your star wide receiver to get anyone other than a potential franchise quarterback. The Panthers going all in today, making a blockbuster trade to get the number one pick in the draft from the Chicago Bears. Welcome into Charlotte Sports Live, I'm Grace Grill. He is Mike Lissette. We've got Gabe McDonald joining us in just a little bit. And Mike, Panthers had a day.

They sure did. We do have tonight's due kylites for you as well. But and also a look at a huge Charlotte FC match at Bank of America Stadium tomorrow. But we begin with the biggest story of the year so far, at 800 South Minstreet. The Panthers get the top pick from the Bears. And here's what they gave up for it. This year's number nine overall pick, the 61st overall pick in the second round, which they got from San Francisco and Christian Capricrade.

A first round pick in 2024, a second round pick in 2025, and oh yeah, the active player, the top receiver from this past year, DJ Moore. Of course, more of former first round pick in 2018. This tweet says it all. Charlotte Sports Live has learned more of us, shocked by the trade and sad about leaving Charlotte. Hard to blame him. Three of his five seasons of the league all here, ended with more than 1,000 yards receiving. Former Panthers star Steve Smith Sr.

shared his thoughts on the trade after the news broke. The fan base loves DJ Moore. Agent 89 loves DJ Moore. But guess what? They did. They thought he was great. He was a great asset to move forward with getting something that they value as a franchise changer, a franchise impactor. So that's what they're gonna do.

They're gonna do some big things. So, hey Panthers fans, I believe we got some aggressiveness going on and keep pounding us in the building. So Steve Smith appears to like the bold move by the Panthers front office, but do you? We posted this poll on the Charlotte Sports Live Twitter page and right now, almost 64% of you say yes, you do like it. 15% of you say no. And then almost 21% of you say let's see who they pick. So you can check us out at CSL on QCN and cast your vote.
