Cindric on COTA race: 'These cars aren't easy, the track ain't easy'

Well, we found the wall here at Kota, which good thing we didn't end in the wall, but it didn't end with some crazy overtime there, some restart turn one. Man, at Kota, tell me about it. Yeah, I picked middle about four times and got a lot of damage on our discount tire forward and picked bottom, gained a lot of spots. The choose cone at these deals makes it makes it definitely my fault if it goes wrong. You can't you can't just say bad luck, but we did have some bad luck on Pit road today, really took us from having track position racing for the lead with the with the 45 and the 24, which were obviously the class of the field. It felt like we had some strengths, kind of handcuffed for our strategy and drove back into the top 10 under green and that was fun, kind of. And yeah, then just surviving restart.

I got a ton of damage and I think half the field was pretty content to finish there and just just a long day, long hot day. These cars aren't easy. This track ain't easy and yeah, glad it ended well. Obviously catching your breath here, but given your road course history and the success that you've had on road courses, ranked this race. What did you think of it just from inside the driver's seat? Well, I definitely like not having a stage. I feel like you're at least the stage breaks just because one, it brought some physicality into the race, but two, I feel like it created natural ebbs and flows, natural strategy. From being honest, we could probably reform our restarts a little bit because that's a lot of broken race cars.

So sometimes it's, I would say 80% of the time it's incidental contact. It's just massive stacks and cars that are strong enough to withstand it. So either way, it's probably my criticism for the day, but I think the fans got put on to a great race and start to finish. Austin Cendrick brings it home in the sixth place for the two crew.
