Zelenskyy says certain agreements with allies are not public, but are positive
This is where the 27 heads of state of the EU received the Ukrainian president yesterday here in Brussels. They took the so-called family photo in the area you see behind me where those European flags are right now. And indeed Zelensky came here to ask those European leaders for further security guarantees. One official told me yesterday that indeed some member states did commit to sending fighter jets to Ukraine. Another official working for a different member state told me, however, that even if that ends up being the case, even if European countries do send those fighter jets, that is not going to happen in the short term. It's not going to happen very soon. And of course, that could be a problem for the Ukrainians who are desperate for further help.
So let's see what will happen, how the situation will unfold, what sort of concrete military assistance the Ukrainians will receive in the coming weeks. Having said that, the Ukrainian president did seem to be happy about his second trip abroad since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Here he is assessing this week so far. I think that our visit to London has achieved results and we've moved towards the solutions concerning long-range missiles and the training of our pilots. Yes indeed, that's an important step to getting the fighter jets we need. Also, there are certain agreements which are not public, but they're positive. And when these things happen, we'll know, but I don't want to forewarn the Russian Federation, which constantly threatens us with renewed aggression.
