Southern Baptist Convention ousts Saddleback Church in OC for having woman pastor

The Southern Baptist Convention has ousted Saddleback Church for having a woman pastor. The convention's executive committee voted to oust its second largest congregation, making an apparent reference to Stacey Wood, wife of Saddleback lead pastor Andy Wood. The convention and Saddleback, with its mega church in Lake Forest, have been at odds since 2021 when founder Rick Warren ordained three women as pastors.
