Sam Bankman-Fried accused of using aides to hide campaign cash

Sam Bankman-Fried, facing four additional charges related to the collapse of FTX. Ashley, take us through the new charges, please. Yes, prosecutors accusing Bankman-Fried of essentially stealing FTX customers' money to fund his political giving and then trying to cover it up. The expanded indictment claims that Bankman-Fried directed at least 300 illegal campaign donations, totaling up to 100 million to both Democrats and Republicans through two other unnamed FTX executives who basically acted as straw donors to try and hide the true source of the funds. Prosecutors alleged the scheme was used to evade federal contribution limits and hide the illegal source of some of the money and also to protect Bankman-Fried's reputation by keeping his name off of donations to political candidates and causes, didn't quite align with his center-left public image. We should also point out, by the way, that prosecutors do not allege that any of the recipients of those donations, including several members of Congress, were aware that the money was in violation of the law. Many members of Congress have also vowed to donate those contributions to charity.
