Pfizer introduces groundbreaking vaccine to prevent RSV in babies

has introduced a new vaccine to tackle RSV. It's the first of its kind and could receive FDA approval by August. It works by vaccinating a pregnant person who would then pass on protective antibodies to their child in utero. RSV usually causes mild cold like symptoms, but it could be severe for infants and older adults. This new vaccine would be 82% effective at protecting newborns within their first three months of life, according to Pfizer.
