Gov. Wes Moore joins Vice President Harris for homeownership cost announcement

You're looking for a new home, but maybe having some trouble staying within your budget. Governor Westmore and Vice President Kamala Harris hoping to help out a bit now. The two appear at a Bowie State University this afternoon to announce the White House's efforts to lower costs for home buyers, which Harris says can have positive effects long into the future. According to the White House news release, the federal housing administration's annual mortgage insurance program is going to be reduced now from 0.85 percent to 0.55 for most new borrowers. The average home buyer in Prince George's County, where Bowie State is located, of course, will save nearly $900 a year with the reduction.
